Seven Pines

Seven Pines is made of 177 lovingly hand crafted individual pieces and measures approximately 21 x 21 inches unframed.  24 x 24 inches including custom stained pine frame.   It is made using the copper foil or “tiffany” technique.

A range of glass was used including cathedral, artique, wispy, translucent, woodgrain, and bevel.

Our client requested stormy gray skies with rays of sunlight and bits of blue peaking out to illuminate the pine trees.  The glass will hang in a window that looks out onto the pines depicted in the glass.

Included to the left is the original reference photo from their property.

For me, this piece calls to mind the vivid colors and simple forms of old National Parks illustrations.

August 1st Glass

August 1st is a locally owned bakery in Burlington, Vermont and this piece was commissioned as an anniversary gift to the owners from their dearest friends. To learn more about the origins of the name of the bakery please visit  http://augustfirstvt.com/about-august-first - it's a lovely story to read.

August 1st-Wheat stained glass is made of 63 individual pieces and measures approximately 6” x 8”.  It is made using the copper foil or “tiffany” technique and wrapped in lead came for framing.  A range of glass was used including artique, water glass, and wispy glass.

Ornament Sets

Inspired by glass ornaments from years gone by, I've put together these sets to make some new heirlooms. Metallics, clears, mirrors, vintage colors, 1930's derived blue mirror glass, and true christmas ball shades - it's hard to choose a fav. All are finished with an aged black patina.

Beauchene Crane

Beauchene Crane  12.75’’ x 12.75”

The Beauchene Crane represents an ‘exploded’ or folded out origami crane on the first plane. Soldered onto the top are five two dimensional ‘folded’ cranes. Five in Japanese is go - which to me represents moving forward.

The piece, with frame, measures 12.75 x 12.75 inches square and is comprised of 108 individual pieces. The background is made of 48 pieces of clear seed glass and aqua water glass. The cranes are 12 pieces each in glass including solid, water glass, cathedral glass, and striated glass.

The Apple Doesn't Fall Far

My dad handed me my first set of glass tools and the rest is history. He's past 90 now and still makes thank you gifts every chance he gets. On a recent visit his health wasn't lending toward soldering and cutting so he had me step in to make one of his famous butterflies. I think it came out pretty well and I know the recipient was overwhelmed with love when she got it. Side note: he built a whole soldering platform into an old briefcase - that is guerrilla glass work at it's best!
