Beauchene Crane

Beauchene Crane  12.75’’ x 12.75”

The Beauchene Crane represents an ‘exploded’ or folded out origami crane on the first plane. Soldered onto the top are five two dimensional ‘folded’ cranes. Five in Japanese is go - which to me represents moving forward.

The piece, with frame, measures 12.75 x 12.75 inches square and is comprised of 108 individual pieces. The background is made of 48 pieces of clear seed glass and aqua water glass. The cranes are 12 pieces each in glass including solid, water glass, cathedral glass, and striated glass.

FLW Inspired Transom 2.0

Classic is classic for a reason and you cannot miss with a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired stained glass transom.  This panel contains 91 individual pieces in a mix of seed glass, clear quarter reed glass, water glass, and wispy semi-transparent glass. Completed dimensions are 1’ x 3”.

I always love to see the process to imagine what the end result will be by only viewing a line drawing. When you start meticulous you stay that way and good planning never killed anyone right?!

Heidi by the Sea aka Stella the glass baby

“Heidi by the Sea” contains 372 individual pieces -  comprised of 21 colorsin a mix of stippled clear, water glass, artique, opaque, cathedral, and wispy semi-transparent glass. It measures 15 x 20 inches unframed and is made using the copper foil method.

HBTS was a true labor of love - my client and I referred to her as Stella - our glass baby. Like all things worth doing, she took work, compromise, inspiration, luck, and most of all open collaboration.

Heidi stands a watchful eye over a familiar coast line. The sun is setting behind wedding doves set amid a tangle of ranunculus in a birch tree chuppah.  Now the bride can look out her window and see that far away view and be transported.
